NSA District Program


Ontario Soccer Development Structure

 

 

Objective

 

To maximize the development of potential young players in Ontario from grassroots through to Provincial and National team selection.

District Identification and Development 11 - 12 years                                         District

Regional Identification and Development 12 - 13 years                                        Regional

National Training Centre Identification and Development 15 - 17 years            National

 

 

CLUB LEVEL - Players U11 and Younger

 

  • Scouting is performed by District Coach
  • Players are scouting in Club environments
  • U11 players are scouted
  • Time frame:  May - August (season)
  • District ID camp held in September
  • Selected players will be taken indoors to work through the winter
  • A District team representing the best players from the ID Camp is chosen by the District Coach

 DISTRICT LEVEL - Players U12

 

  • District teams are selected from Club programs
  • Players from the U11 District ID camp are invited to U12 program
  • Scouting is performed by District Coach
  • District Coach is the Head Coach of the District team
  • Inter-district competition is put in place during July and August with the goal to select a Regional team
  • District teams participate in a September Regional ID Camp within their REGION (Niagara, Hamilton and Peel-Halton are Region 2, our Region)
  • A Regional team is selected by the Regional Coach

REGIONAL LEVEL - Players U13

 

  • Regional Coach will select Regional Teams at the conclusion of Regional ID Camps
  • ***All Regional Team players must have participated in the District Program***
  • The "door is not closed" on a player who does not make it to the Regional team as he/she may be invited by the Regional coach to train with the squad
  • Regional teams will participate in the September Provincial ID Camp at the Soccer Centre

PROVINCIAL LEVEL - Players U14

 

  • The best players from the September Provincial ID Camp will be chosen to train as Team Ontario
  • Provincial U14 Program begins in October after the Provincial ID Camp

NTC LEVEL - Players U15 and Older

 

  • The best players in the Provincial Player Development Program will progress to the National Training Centre Program
